I am pleased to announce that Milton Christian School will have a new home in the future. The Town of Milton has awarded MCS the tender for leasing the former Milton Public Library. The Town of Milton Council voted in favor to award MCS the use of the former Library on December 19th, 2011.
This is a tremendous answer to prayer! The Lord has met this need in a dramatic way.
Let us all continue to pray with faithfulness to the work God has called us to.

MCS needs prayer!
To fellow parents and supporters of Milton Christian School:
As you are aware, MCS has been blessed by the Lord and continues to grow. As a result, MCS needs a larger facility. The Town of Milton is currently receiving proposals for the use of the former Bruce Street Library (45 Bruce Street). Principal Van Slingerland is preparing a proposal, together with input from an architect and the board, on how we would see using the property for MCS. The proposal is due on Nov 16 at 11 am. Following that, interviews will be held on Nov 22 and the decision will be made on Dec 5 at the Town Council meeting.
Recognizing that this is important to the future of MCS, we would like to ask everyone to pray. Specifically:
For protection, wisdom and favour for those involved with the proposal and interview processes.
If it is meant to be, that MCS would be successful in the proposal.
If the door is meant to close that the Lord would close it.
If the door stays open that the Lord would supply all we need.
That the Lord would receive all the Glory and credit for what is going to happen.
We are asking that each family sign up for at least one day leading up to Dec 5 to go and pray on the library property at a time that is convenient to you. A sign up sheet has been prepared and posted on the Principal's office door. You may wish to walk around the library &/or sit and pray in your car as your family situation and weather allows. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity to express faith as a family and a community.
Attached is a sheet listing Scriptures which you may choose to look up as you start your prayer time. (choose a few)
"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17
Should you have further specific questions about the proposal, they may be directed to Mr. Van Slingerland.

Year Six Begins!
Hello Everyone.
Another school year has begun and on behalf of myself, the faculty and the leadership of Milton Christian School, we want to welcome everyone back to what is anticipated as the most exciting of MCS’s 6 year history. Much is new with MCS as we begin the 2011/2012 school year. With a new principal, new teaching staff, new classroom configurations, and over 30 new students, we began day one with an attendance of 80; the highest in the school’s history.

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit with many families before day one of the school year. During the visits I learned about the passionate vision of what parent’s desire for their children. The three most highlighted aspects that parent’s mentioned were:
Growth in Christian character and Christian learning
Academic excellence
Social and community development
I greatly look forward to see what the Lord has in store for Milton Christian School this coming year. With that in mind, I am excited to announce our theme verse for this school year.
“My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.
Let every creature praise His holy name for ever and ever.”
Psalm 145:21
Christine and Brian Klein-Geltink are pleased to announce that Katelyn Marlene was born into this world on July 27th. We celebrate with them on the birth of their beautiful daughter. Christine will be off serving a maternity leave this year providing care for their new special addition to the family.
There are a number of logistical announcements that Milton Christian School would like to extend to the MCS family:
Parking – Pick up and drop off will continue to occur in the parking lot on the south side of the main building. If you anticipate a longer visit (IE more than 5 minutes), then please park in the gravel parking lot located on the West side of the main building. Please use extra caution when traveling through the parking lot. We are anticipating the parking lot to be paved soon.
Entrance/Exit – The door on the South-West side of the building will act as our only main entrance and exit. Please come to this door at all times during school hours. The door will be locked during school hours, so please ring the doorbell for assistance.
Allergies – We have a number of students attending MCS with serious nut allergies. For this reason we have established Milton Christian School as a nut free zone. Please refrain from packing nut products in your children’s lunches.
School Attendance/Late Policy – We have established a new school attendance and late policy for the students of MCS. Class will begin at 8:30am sharp throughout the school year and attendance will occur at that time. Punctuality is crucial for a positive learning community. If children arrive at school after 8:30am they are to report to the principal’s office for a late slip. An accumulation of 5 late slips per month may result in further consequences for students. The teaching staff have also asked that parents leave classroom’s by 8:30am.
Chapel – Chapel will occur every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 9:00am. Parents are encouraged to participate in chapel with their children as we enjoy a time of worship and hearing Gods word.
Hot Lunch – Hot Lunch is available everyday for $5 per meal, but the entire student body will have hot lunch the last Friday of each month excluding September, December and March.
The school year is quickly shaping up to be a tremendous community of faith and learning and we are exciting for every participant. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Van Slingerland at your earliest convenience.
Blessings to you!

MCS Summer Camp: Weeks 1 - 3
Milton Christian School's Summer Camp program has begun! We have many children from different schools and backgrounds participating in our camps every day. Our mornings begin with a Bible story and a math and language lesson according to the skill level of the particular child. The afternoon is packed full of games, activities and crafts related to each week's theme. If you are still interested in sending your child(ren) to our camp, there are still spaces available. See MCS' school website for more details. Summer looks bright!

Medieval Times
Grades 3/4 and 7/8 have been studying the Middle Ages in Social Studies and Art History so a trip to Medieval Times was in order. After a dungeon tour MCS students were led into the arena with crowns to support and cheer for the red & yellow knight. Students were charmed with flowers thrown by our knight and entertained by the jousting and duels. All of this while digging in to a utensil free lunch.
Art Club
Art Club has been busy this year with a variety of projects. Students have been painting, sculpting and creating. Below are some pictures of the grade four through eight students in art club this Spring working hard on their plaster bowls.

7/8's Go to the Driving Range
Now that the weather has warmed up and dried up the 7/8 class has been outside golfing. The past few weeks we've been practicing our technique with whiffle balls in the park. This week was the true test when we took a swing at some real golf balls.
